A Journey into Voice Overs: Q&A with Ariel Williams

Welcome to our blog post featuring an exclusive interview with Ariel Williams, a successful voice artist who embarked on an exciting career after enrolling in the Work from Home doing Voice Overs course. In this Q&A session, Ariel shares her background, motivations, and experiences, providing valuable insights for anyone considering a similar path.

Q: Ariel, could you tell us about your background prior to enrolling in the Work from Home doing Voice Overs course?

A: Before taking up voice acting, I worked as a freelance copywriter.

Q: What motivated you to enroll in the Work from Home doing Voice Overs course?

A: Well, I needed guidance, and this course seemed like the perfect fit for me. I was seeking direction and wanted to enhance my skills in the field of voice overs.

Q: How did you discover the Work from Home doing Voice Overs online course?

A: Honestly, I can't recall the exact source. As I delved into the world of voice overs and conducted my research, I stumbled upon this course, which caught my attention and seemed promising.

Q: Could you share your initial expectations about the course? Did it meet or exceed those expectations?

A: Absolutely! The course exceeded my expectations in every way. Julie, the instructor, provided easy-to-follow videos, excellent explanations, and guidance. I particularly appreciated her willingness to listen to my initial attempts at voice work, which was incredibly valuable.

Q: When did you complete the course?

A: I completed the course well over a year ago, and I've been pursuing voice over work ever since.

Q: How much time do you spend working as a voice artist? Is it a part-time or full-time endeavor for you?

A: I initially started working on voice overs as a side gig, but now it has become my full-time occupation. The flexibility of freelancing allows me to work around my responsibilities as a single mom.

Q: What types of voice over work have you completed so far?

A: Thus far, my portfolio mainly consists of commercial work. However, I've also had the opportunity to work on some exciting projects like video games and a meditation app.

Q: What's your favorite type of voice over work?

A: Oh, I love all of it!

Q: Could you walk us through a typical work day as a voice artist?

A: My days can vary, considering my role as a single mom, but generally, I spend mornings auditioning and recording for clients. In the afternoons, I focus on marketing and networking. The beauty of freelancing is that I can work late at night if necessary.

Q: What do you love most about being a voice artist?

A: Oh, it's so much fun!

Q: What advice would you offer to others considering a career in voice overs?

A: My advice would be to go all in! Becoming a voice artist requires a significant investment, not so much monetarily, but in time and effort. It calls for ENDURANCE.

Q: Could you describe your recording space?

A: I record in my daughter's walk-in closet! I hang blankets from rods around my mic, have blankets on the surface area where I work, and of course always make sure to turn off the a/c when I'm recording. And I live in Texas...Yipes!
