Trouble meeting ACX submission guidelines?

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

If you're an audiobook narrator and you've ever worked with ACX, you know the feeling of uploading your files and then waiting...waiting...waiting to see if your files meet ACX submission guidelines.

You might feel like you're almost done with your audiobook project when you hit "upload" and "I'm done." But you know as well as I do that sometimes you have corrections to make and sometimes your audio files don't meet ACX submission guidelines.

Well, there's good news on the horizon. ACX has rolled out a new tool that will help audiobook narrators know sooner if their files meet the guidelines. ACX has rolled out "ACX Audio Analysis."

I just used it last week. When you upload a file, ACX will immediately analyze the file and let you know if there are problems. No more waitng days or weeks to find out. Hooray!

Another tool that is immensely helpful is Audacity's ACX Check Analyzer. Even before you upload your files to ACX, run the ACX Check Analyzer in Audacity and find out if they pass the submission guidelines. If they don't, make a few mastering tweaks until you get it right. It makes the process so much more enoyable.

Here's a link to the ACX blog post explaining the new feature.

Happy narrating!
