How do you know if you can be successful? | Improve your chances.

How do you know if you can be successful in the world of voice overs?

There's one definite way to improve your chances...you have to try! You have zero chance of success if you sit on the sidelines and never jump in. In 2011, I jumped in. I got my recording studio set up in my home, I got my equipment set up, I practiced and honed my skills and I started auditioning. Of course, I jumped in...on the side. I didn't leave my full-time job right off the bat. So, when did I know everything would be OK? When I got hired for my first gig. I had been auditioning on Voice123. I submitted lots of auditions...I didn't know what I was good at or what my voice was best used for. And then it happened. I got an email saying that a client wanted to hire me for their project. The project was to narrate several chapters of a text book - at a rate of $150/chapter. And everything clicked. People do want me. My voice is usable. I can make money! And from that moment on, I knew everything would be OK. And by the way, I still work for that company and they are one of my favorite clients. How will you know if you will be successful? There's only one way to find out..
