Voice Health

Do you really understand how your voice works? Do you actively take steps to protect and save your voice?

As voice artists, we are in a unique position. Even a little cold with a stuffy nose or dry cough can cause us to stop working temporarily. And long term not taking care of your voice could result in the end of your career.

As winter nears for me here in the upper midwest, cold dry air is moving in and I know it takes a toll on my voice. I'm extra careful when out in public to try to avoid being around anyone with a stuffy nose or cough. I probably use too much hand sanitizer! But in this business, you just have to. When a voice project comes in and you need to record, you need to have access to your best pipes.

Education about voice health and good habits can go a long way in helping you preserve your money maker. Take a few minutes to read more about your voice health from Voice Science Works. Learn how your voice works, when you should rest, how to warm up and more. Check it out here.
